Prior to starting this crazy journey, I created a rough outline for the book. (I needed to have some sort of an idea of where I was heading with this thing.)
But as I’ve been writing this week, I haven’t followed it very closely – at all 😳. I’ve let myself be creative and follow what’s in my heart. It’s been really fun and I find that I get way more accomplished than when I try to stick too closely with the plan. (Though, I check back in with the outline from time to time.) I’m already working on the rough draft of chapter 3! 🎉
Oh! And here’s a helpful tip that works for me, at least. When you start writing your rough draft, don’t do it with a book title in mind. If you do, you will most likely box yourself in and experience extreme frustration. Instead, choose a topic, make a rough outline and then write from your heart. ❤️ You’ll enjoy it more and it will be much easier to get what’s inside, out. When you’re done writing the book (or near to it), the book title will jump out at you!
